Exit Music #40 (It Takes Two to Tango), Acrylic on panel

Nathan’s abstract painting Exit Music #40 (It Takes Two to Tango) is on view in the Mermaid Dressing Room. Painted on 2 panels, this color composition is from Nathan’s Exit Music series which references the music that is played at the end of a performance or movie while the audience is departing and signals both the end of the imaginary world they were privy to and their sobering reemergence into daily life. Nathan was drawn to this as a metaphor for transition and the complicated feelings that the “end” conjures. Similar to FloridaRAMA's immersive world Nathan’s work explores elements of time and perception.

Bio—
Nathan’s artwork is an abstract representation of the fleeting moments of everyday life and is based upon a recollection of the sensations, colors and spaces perceived in those moments. He is inspired by the density and variety of Floridian flora and is conceptually drawn to interweaving layers and their metaphorical application to memory recall and moments of time. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Colorado State University in 2001 and currently maintains a studio in St. Pete, FL.
