Known for work that occupies the space between painting a sculpture, Emiliano often uses materials familiar to the viewer, such as papier-mâché, plywood and acrylic house paint. He aims to create visually pleasing, yet non-functional objects that reflect his fascination with consumer culture and the idea of wealth combined with high fashion and Florida aesthetics.

Macy Eats Paint
Macy’s artworks are often vibrant bursts of colors and a fresh take on femininity. Though she considers herself primarily a painter, she explores resin and other mixed media to create work that challenges the viewer’s expectations of what is real and it means to be a woman.

Macy Eats Paint & Emiliano Settecasi
In September 2020, Macy and Emiliano partnered to create an innovative and immersive arts experience at Mize Gallery. Homecoming reimagined the homecoming tradition and invited visitors to experience a reprieve from the COVID-19 pandemic by putting on a mask, dressing up in formal wear, and becoming a part of the art. In their words “Homecoming seeks to renew their hope by proving that moments of bliss, romance, magic, and mortifying awkwardness can still exist in this world, and, if we work together, will exist in the world we rebuild going forward.”
